MA - The Aesthetics Of Space
During my time in Kyoto, immersed in the study of Buddhism and meditation, I encountered Ma. The Japanese concept of the space between things. This idea revealed to me the profound beauty of absence, of pause, of what exists beyond form. In psychology, we learn to value silence - to allow long pauses, to listen to what emerges in stillness. Ma echoed this truth, showing me that form and emptiness are not opposites but companions; each defines and sustains the other.
In my practice, I shape not only the visible, but the void that surrounds it. Each piece becomes a meditation on stillness, an exploration of how space can hold meaning. Through objects of restraint and silence, I seek to make stillness itself the art.
